Early Spring at Dennings Down
Spring arrives slowly on the farm.
The fields begin to green up again and the hedgerows start to wake after the winter months. There’s a sense of things starting to move — not all at once, but steadily.
At this time of year the sheep are never far from our thoughts. Lambing season keeps us busy and it’s always a special time to be outside, watching the new arrivals finding their feet. The farm feels full of small signs of change — birds returning to the hedges, buds appearing on the trees, and longer evenings stretching the working day.
We’ve also been welcoming more visitors onto the farm recently. It’s been a pleasure to share the land with school groups and families, and to see how quickly children connect with the animals and the wider landscape. Learning outside the classroom has a different rhythm, and it’s something we’re keen to keep developing here.
Over the coming months we’ll be sharing more of what’s happening on the farm — from seasonal work and wildlife sightings to upcoming events and opportunities to visit.
